The May Tricks Reloaded

Jobs are being lost, broken governments continue to spend money to help people, some governments have chosen not to help those in need... How are students across the world going to learn how to read and write by watching videos online? How will students be held accountable for their learning? How will kids without access to technology learn from paper copies without a teacher's help? How will we help those that suffer from domestic violence that now spend more time with their abusers?

Schools are places where the new COVID-19 can spread quickly. Similar things can happen in some workplaces. How do we balance life, health, the economy, and education?

What hurts me the most is having very limited traveling options, feeling useless with this online teaching, and all the consequences that come with it (for students, workers, and society overall). I hope that we get out of this sooner rather than later, or at least have some kind of balance that does not involve an indefinite lockdown. Will all the people that lost their job get it back quickly? Will we be able to continue reopening without overwhelming the hospitals?

I would consider leaving the "classroom" if there was some kind of job that paid me to travel and take pictures like I like to do, but most importantly, if we continue teaching virtually indefinitely. I believe I've run out of options for day trips to avoid staying in hotels. Should I try visiting the National Parks and stay at some hotels? I'm fed up with these horrible May tricks. I'm looking forward to better June surprises, including better news for those who have lost a lot more than I have.
