My elbow was feeling so much better that I decided to make a daytrip to Oklahoma City. Even though I've been there before, I thought that a new Pixel 10 Pro phone (that I purchased at a bargain price) would be worth trying before my next major trip. I almost regretted going, as I-35 was either rainy or stormy from Denton almost all the way up to Oklahoma City. It was hard to park at the Fred Jones Museum in Norman due to a college football game, so I started with the OKC Museum of Art:
The Chihully glass collection has been reduced, but pictures of what's left of it, as well as the pictures of some American and European paintings came out nicely. The state capitol was under renovation in March 2020, its rotunda and some new paintings that were added are now true masterpieces:
The Henry Overholser Mansion may not be worth visiting more than once, but the outside does look nice, so do some other mansions in the area:
The Autrey Museum of the American West had some galleries under renovation, but it was still worth visiting again:
I parked a few minutes away from the Fred Jones Museum and took a Lyft to visit it, as it was cheaper than paying $40 to park:
Blessed Stanley Rother Shrine can be found on the south side of the city:
Our Lady of Perpetual Help is about 10 minutes north of downtown:
Two weeks later I started having snoring problems while falling asleep again. Imagine starting to snore while still awake, and having this happen over, and over, and over again... until it's time to wake up. I've tried CPAP, retainers, exercises, and losing weight. I've been losing some wight and I've been doing some special tongue exercises, but as I can't sleep well with either CPAP or retainers, the only option left might be surgery. I've cancelled an upcoming trip for the end of October to pay for part of these medical costs. I hope I can get this resolved at a reasonable cost and without missing too many days off of work. If I don't have to cancel any more trips that'd be great, but I need to sleep in order to work, and I can't travel without getting paid. Pray for me and I'll pray for you, even if I never get to know that you read this.
